Origin: Royal Khvanchkara is one of Georgia's most storied wineries, rooted in a winemaking legacy stretching back to the 1870s when Rachan nobles Konstantine and Kaikhosro Kipiani began producing their legendary wine from the mountain vineyards of Ambrolauri. Their creation won the Grand Prix at the International Wine Exhibition in Ostend, Belgium in 1907 — one of the earliest Georgian wines to gain international recognition. Today, under the stewardship of renowned winemaker Lado Uzunashvili, Royal Khvanchkara continues this noble tradition from its home in the heart of the Racha-Lechkhumi region. This Tvishi comes from 50-year-old south-facing vineyards in the village of Tvishi, at elevations between 400–600 metres above sea level on the right bank of the Rioni River.

Grape Variety: 100% Tsolikouri — the only grape permitted under the Tvishi PDO and the defining white variety of western Georgia. Late-ripening and naturally high in acidity, Tsolikouri yields wines of exceptional freshness, aromatic delicacy, and outstanding aging potential — making the 2017 vintage an especially refined and mature expression of this celebrated appellation.

Taste Profile: Pale straw with luminous golden tones. Orchard fruit and citrus on the nose, leading to a fruit-filled palate of white peach, apricot, lychee, and melon. Naturally sweet and tender, beautifully balanced by crisp, refreshing acidity. Soft, honeyed, and long on the finish — a wine of real elegance and poise.

Craftsmanship: Naturally semi-sweet — residual sweetness is achieved entirely through careful, cool fermentation, with no added sugars. Royal Khvanchkara has earned over 150 medals at international competitions.
