  • Description

Origin: Usakhelauri is not just a wine — it is a Georgian legend. Produced in minuscule quantities from an ancient grape variety grown exclusively in the remote Lechkhumi region of western Georgia, it has been celebrated for centuries as one of the country's most prized and rarest wines. Bakashvili's expression is a rare opportunity to experience this extraordinary variety.

Grape Variety: 100% Usakhelauri — a grape so rare and so geographically restricted that its name literally means "nameless" in Georgian, a reference to how singular and uncategorisable it is. Grown on steep mountain slopes in Lechkhumi, it produces naturally semi-sweet wine of exceptional character without any added sugar — the sweetness comes purely from the grape itself.

Taste Profile: Deep ruby in the glass. Intensely aromatic — wild dark berries, pomegranate, and violets on the nose, with a silky, velvety texture. Naturally semi-sweet and perfectly balanced, with bright acidity keeping the sweetness lifted and refreshing rather than heavy. A long, memorable finish.

Craftsmanship: Naturally semi-sweet — no chaptalization, no dosage. The sweetness is entirely the grape's own, preserved through the unique microclimate and traditional winemaking of the Lechkhumi highlands. A 2024 vintage from one of Georgia's smallest and most revered PDO zones.

Serving Suggestions: Serve at 12–14°C with dark chocolate, aged blue cheeses, walnut-based desserts, or simply on its own as a celebration.
