  • Description

Origin: Blue Tie sources its Saperavi from the Badiauri micro-terroir in the Sagarejo district of Kakheti — eastern Georgia's heartland for bold, characterful red wines. The region's mineral-rich soils and continental climate provide ideal conditions for Saperavi to develop its signature depth and intensity.

Grape Variety: 100% Saperavi — Georgia's great red grape and one of the world's rare teinturier varieties, meaning both its skin and flesh are deeply pigmented. Its name translates as "place of colour" in Georgian, a testament to the inky, vivid hues it brings to the glass. Saperavi has been cultivated in Kakheti for thousands of years and remains the backbone of Georgian red winemaking.

Taste Profile: Deep, almost opaque ruby-purple in the glass. Aromas of dark cherry, blackberry, and plum layered with hints of black pepper and dried herbs. On the palate — rich, full-bodied, and vibrant, with firm but ripe tannins, lively acidity, and a long, warming finish. A wine of real character and staying power.

Craftsmanship: Crafted in the classic European style using temperature-controlled stainless steel fermentation, allowing Saperavi's bold fruit character and natural structure to shine without intervention. Hand-harvested from Badiauri's vineyards; no unnecessary additives.

Serving Suggestions: Serve at 16–18°C. An outstanding companion to grilled and roasted red meats, lamb, game, hearty stews, Mtsvadi, and aged hard cheeses. Decanting for 20–30 minutes will reward with even greater aromatic complexity.
