Shengeli - Kindzmarauli

Origin: Shengeli Wines' Kindzmarauli is a Limited Reserve expression from the prestigious Kindzmarauli PDO micro-zone, located in the Kvareli district of Kakheti on the southwest-facing bank of the Alazani River, in the foothills of the Caucasus Mountains. The zone's stony, mineral-rich soils and proximity to the mountains produce wines of exceptional structure and elegance — ones that have captivated connoisseurs for centuries.

Grape Variety: 100% Saperavi — Georgia's celebrated red variety, grown here in the Kindzmarauli micro-zone where the combination of stony soils, mountain air, and the Alazani River's moderating influence encourages grapes of extraordinary ripeness and complexity. Kindzmarauli is the only PDO in Georgia dedicated exclusively to naturally semi-sweet red wine.

Taste Profile: Deep, vivid ruby in the glass. Aromas of crushed rose petals, violets, plums, and wild berries rise from the glass with inviting intensity. On the palate — luscious and structured, with a natural sweetness perfectly balanced by Saperavi's firm tannins and vibrant acidity. A long, velvety finish leaves notes of dark cherry and ripe berry.

Craftsmanship: Naturally semi-sweet — no sugar is added at any stage. The wine's residual sweetness is achieved through slow, cool fermentation, halted naturally before all grape sugars convert to alcohol, preserving the fruit's purity and harmony. This Limited Reserve bottling represents a small, carefully curated selection of just 2,045 bottles.

Serving Suggestions: Serve at 14–16°C. A wonderfully versatile companion — pairs beautifully with spicy dishes, duck, venison, aged cheeses, dark chocolate, fruit desserts, and Khinkali. Can also be enjoyed slightly chilled on its own as a pure expression of Georgian winemaking tradition.
