Old Kakheti - Chacha aged in Oak
50cl | 45% | Old Kakheti
Description
Origin: Produced by Old Kakheti (KTW Group) in the Kakheti tradition, using time-honoured methods of Georgian chacha production rooted in Samurowi traditional winemaking.
Base Spirit: Distilled from Kakhetian grape pomace following the old Georgian tradition, then committed to oak for an extended maturation that sets this expression apart.
Taste Profile: Deep golden in colour — noticeably richer than the Classic expression — with a pronounced, warming oak aroma and a full, rounded character. The palate is bold and smooth, with layered oak spice, dried fruit undertones, and a long, satisfying finish. A chacha that rewards slow sipping.
Details
Craftsmanship: After distillation, the chacha is aged for a full 12 months in oak barrels — double the ageing of the Classic — which develops its deep gold colour and intensifies the rich oak bouquet. The extended barrel contact adds complexity and depth while preserving the spirit's authentic Georgian grape character.
Serving Suggestions: Best served ice cold with freshly sliced ginger, as tradition calls for. Also pairs beautifully with pickles, smoked cheese, fish, and cured meat products. Serve at 18–20°C to appreciate the full aromatic depth, or well-chilled as a shot.
