Old Kakheti - Tarragon Chacha
50cl | 45% | Old Kakheti
Description
Origin: Produced by Old Kakheti (KTW Group) following the ancient winemaking traditions of the Racha-Kakheti region. The grape mash is stored through winter in qvevri — ceramic amphorae buried underground — then distilled in copper vessels, just as it has been done in Georgia for thousands of years.
Character: Unmistakable and unapologetically Georgian. Tarragon — or "tarkuna" as it's known in Georgia — is one of the country's most beloved flavours, and here it transforms a traditional chacha into something truly distinctive.
Taste Profile: Striking natural green in colour, with a fresh, aromatic nose of Georgian tarragon — herbal, slightly anise-like, and instantly evocative. On the palate it is smooth and lively, with the clean warmth of chacha carrying the bright herbaceous character of freshly picked tarragon through to a crisp, refreshing finish.
Details
Craftsmanship: After distillation, the chacha is aged together with freshly picked tarragon leaves for 6 months, which naturally imparts the spirit's vivid green colour and distinctive herbal aroma — no artificial colouring or flavouring. A genuine expression of Georgia's love affair with tarragon.
Serving Suggestions: Best served ice cold as a chilled shot. A brilliant conversation piece at any table. Pairs naturally with smoked cheese, pickles, and Georgian cold starters.
