Chelti Winery - Saperavi 2022

Origin: Chelti is one of Kakheti's most decorated family estates, rooted in the village of Shilda since the early 20th century and revived by Giorgi Mirianashvili in 2001. With 80 hectares of estate vineyards on the iron-rich clay and volcanic stone soils of the Caucasus foothills, Chelti has earned over 50 international gold medals and serves as the official wine supplier to the Georgian government. Estate grown and estate bottled.

Grape Variety: 100% Saperavi — hand-harvested from Chelti's own vineyards, where short distances from vine to cellar ensure every grape reaches the press at peak quality.

Taste Profile: Deep, dark ruby in the glass. Blackberry, dark cherry, and black plum on the nose with a pleasant spice. Full-bodied and structured on the palate, with ripe silky tannins, good acidity, and a long, confident finish.

Craftsmanship: Made using natural yeasts only, no animal products, with fermentation and aging in oak barrels. Grapes are harvested by hand and transported on foot to protect the soil — a level of care that shows in every bottle.

Serving Suggestions: Serve at 16–18°C with grilled meats, lamb, mature cheeses, and rich stews.
