Bakashvili Wine - Chitistvala
75cl | 12.5% | Bakashvili Wine — Chitistvala | Amber Dry | Qvevri
Description
Origin: One of the rarest bottles in Georgian winemaking — Chitistvala is an ancient indigenous variety from the Racha-Lechkhumi region of western Georgia, grown on steep mountain terrain and produced in vanishingly small quantities. Bakashvili Wine's commitment to preserving Georgia's viticultural heritage is nowhere more apparent than here.
Grape Variety: 100% Chitistvala — a grape so rare it barely registers outside specialist Georgian wine circles. Ancient, place-bound, and almost impossible to find elsewhere, it produces amber wine of exceptional singularity and aromatic depth when vinified in traditional Qvevri with skin contact.
Taste Profile: Golden amber in the glass. The nose is aromatic and layered — expect notes typical of rare Rachuli whites: wildflowers, dried orchard fruit, beeswax, and warm spice from the Qvevri aging. Structured on the palate with the firm tannins of extended skin contact, balanced acidity, and a long, complex finish that rewards patience and attention.
